I’m a Psychotherapist, Counsellor and group facilitator, based in Reading, Berkshire. I work with clients face-to-face and online, in short- or longer-term work.
Before training as a psychotherapist, I had a long career in the National Health Service, working at senior level in governance and management. I have experienced first-hand the impact of stress, perfectionism, and bullying. I know what it's like to struggle emotionally with low self-worth, and to have no hope of a better future. This experience now shapes how I help client's manage their own unique challenges.
I completed my training at the Gestalt Centre in London, earning a Postgraduate Diploma and a Master’s in Gestalt Therapy Theory. As a clinical member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), I strictly follow their ethical code. My work is supported by ongoing supervision, which ensures both my professional growth and the highest standards of care for my clients.
Whilst I’m qualified in Gestalt, I work broadly with relevant parts of other therapeutic approaches, focusing on the importance of the therapeutic relationship.
I gained my initial experience working within a University Wellbeing Service and a local counselling charity. I’ve worked with anxiety, depression and low-mood, grief and loss, suicidal thoughts, sexual assault, identity issues, relational difficulties, and have a special interest in shame and life-transitions.
I’m here to help you to get to know yourself, how you make sense of your world, how different situations affect you, and how you make choices in your life. In understanding and accepting yourself it’s my belief you can make choices that support you to lead a satisfying, fulfilling life.
Feel free to give me a call. I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation and I would love to hear from you.
